Building Validation for System Setup
Please carefully follow the validation rules outlined below when completing the System Setup File. This ensures that your buildings are properly structured and organized in the system.
Validation Rules: Buildings
Buildings are a fundamental part of the property structure and are assigned to each unit in the system. They allow you to organize units based on your specific property type. For instance, single-family homes can be treated as buildings, while apartment complexes may have multiple buildings with shared or different addresses.
Building Name: Assign a unique name to each building.
Customize this naming convention based on your system preferences.
Building Street Address: Provide the street address
of the building. Typically, this matches the property's address, but in some cases (e.g., apartment
complexes), buildings may have different street addresses for mailing purposes. If this field is left
empty, the address will default to the property’s street address.
Building Bin: Enter the unique identifier or building
identification number assigned by the state (if applicable). Including this ensures proper
identification in system records.
Examples:
- For single-family homes, each house can be designated as a "Building."
- For apartment complexes, the physical buildings within the complex can be treated as individual "Buildings."
Helpful Tips
- Use consistent naming conventions for buildings to maintain organization.
- Double-check mailing addresses for apartment complexes to avoid errors during correspondence.
- Ensure that the Building Bin aligns with state-specific guidelines and requirements (if applicable).
